Following the closure of the Kilrush District Hospital in 1987, a local group came together to organise fundraising across the West Clare community to facilitate the opening of what is now St Senan’s Nursing Home. 

We are a charitable organisation run by a voluntary board with 45 professional staff catering to the needs of our residents. 

For the past 33 years, St Senan’s Nursing Home has provided professional care for residents in a community based environment. Initially catering for 22 residents, we are privileged to now provide care to 43 residents.

2016 saw the completion of a new 15 bed wing consisting of 9 single bedrooms and 3 twin bedrooms, together with a meeting room and day room dedicated to Michael Flynn, our dear friend and founding member who sadly passed away in 2013. 

St Senan’s Nursing Home is registered with HIQA, Fair Deal approved, VHI approved and is a member of the Irish Nursing Home Organisation.
